I love taking pictures of people taking pictures of people.  Someday I'll post the "best of" here.  This is cute but note the stacks of tiny rocks behind the young girl.  What are they?  Answer to come.

PIFF and the Temples in the Mountain and by the Sea

One Blog entry all month, and the month is over!  Needless to say I’ve been extremely busy, all unfortunately during the Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF). No matter, as about all the seating for about every screening was sold out.

Luckily, PIFF Central was setup right on Haeundae Beach a stone’s throw from my hotel window and made for a festive attraction. There were two stages setup; one mainly for entertainment and the other sort of a live talk show to interview many of Korea’s up and coming movie stars, or so I gathered as the crowd seemed overwhelmingly adolescent and female.  Everyone had digital cameras (or camera phones) and students and pros alike were wandering about with camcorders.

One free Sunday I was determined to see a film by simply buying a ticket on the street.  I drove to BEXCO (the massive Busan Convention Center and a film viewing venue).  Sure tickets were available, but to see what, I couldn't figure out.  Frustrated by the crowds, I did a 180 and headed north of Busan to the Haedong Yongungsa Temple on the sea. What a great stress reliever and what a great day.

Then a few weeks flew by and another free Sunday took a group of us to the ancient city of Gyeongju and another temple in the mountains.  So much to tell and so many photos to post, but no time to do it!
